Universitas Indonesia (UI) is one of the biggest universities in Indonesia, with the campus area covering about 320 hectares. To cover the need for clean water on campus, UI cooperates with Depok’s Municipal Waterworks, Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM), that provides clean water supplies.
UI monitors not only the water usage in the campus area every month but also the rate of clean water resources in the campus area every 6 months. The result is reported to Depok’s local government through DELLH (RKL-UPL) UI’s campus area report.
Along with population growth in UI’s campus area, the need for clean water will also increase. Therefore, UI began applying a policy for water saving that applies to all academics and students on campus. Universitas Indonesia also began applying wastewater management, so the water can be reused.
